Summary: Copper oxide thin film is synthesized on the copper substrate at room temperature by using the anodization technique. The Cu-substrate is placed in the NaOH solution and the distance between the electrodes is kept constant though out the experiment. Anodization duration is kept change in a constant and rhythmic manner to study the time effect on the anodization of Cu, while the others parameters like voltage, temperature etc. are kept constant during the experimental procedure. The Crystallographic study of the synthesized thin films was analyzed by using X-ray diffraction and the surface morphology of the substrate surface was examined by scanning electron microscope. The XRD analysis show that the formation of various phases of copper oxide CuO, Cu2O and Cu4O3. The SEM results also confirm that the anodization time affects the surface morphology on the substrate surface.
