Summary: The seedlings of fresh tomato from market were grown in the pots under different condition. Stress was given in the form of glucose to plants. The concentration of glucose as stress ranges from two to ten grams. All groups of tomatoes were grown under Sun without shed. Growth parameters; number of leaves and height of plants were under observation. Ripe fruits of tomato, comparable in development and size were gathered from six cultivars grown under different stress conditions. Six lots from each group were assayed for individual phenolic contents by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with diode array detection (DAD) procedure. The phenolic acids extracted by the hydrolysis were recognized as p-coumaric acid, ferulic acid and caffeic acid. The predominance of caffeic acid was present in all groups. These phenolics were greater in quantity in group that was stressed with two grams of glucose as compare to group being stressed more and non-stressed one measured by HPLC. Since these phenolic compounds play a significant role in human nutrition as an antioxidant. So the differences in the result of these phenolic for different group may have a considerable importance.
