The antibacterial activity of the synthesized derivatives (collected from chemistry
department) was evaluated using a broth dilution method against bacterial pathogen. The
concentration of compound was 1.5mg/ml. Ciprofloxin was a reference compound to be
used as positive control. The compounds exhibited percent antibiosis against Escherichia
coli (48.97%-99.64%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (34.78%-99.52%), Staphylococcus
aureus (37.24%-99.63%), Klebsiella sp. (34.88%-99.34%). Bis(3-(1-(2-hydroxy phenyl
imino ethyl) dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one)nickel(II) nitrate (AK-30) showed better antibiotic
potential against three pathogens Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella sp.
that has percent antibiosis ( >98%) while this compound showed resistant antibiosis
against Pseudomonas aeruginosa that was (-40.09%).
Bis(3-(1-(phenylimino)ethyl) dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one)copper(II) chloride(KS-33)
Showed resistant/poor antibiotic potential against two pathogens Pseudomonas
aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus while the same compound showed antibiotic
results against Escherichia coli and Klebsiella sp. that was >99%.
