<br/><br/> "The role of Pakisatni literary magazines in<br/>promotion of humour and satire in Urdu literature"<br/>There is no doubt that humour and satire in Urdu<br/>Journalism was formally started with the inception of "Awadh<br/>Punch" in 1877 A.D. It provided a strong basis to the Urdu<br/>Literature for presenting its earlier pieces of humour and satire -<br/>both in poetry and prose. Most of the research scholars while<br/>writing their thesis on "Humour and satire in Urdu Journalism"<br/>had considered the column writing and Humouristic Journals as<br/>main promotor of Uurdu literary humour and satire. But they<br/>became oblivious of Literary Journals of Urdu - a main source<br/>of promoting humour and satire in Urdu Literature. In this<br/>research paper, it has been tried to give the Literary Journals of<br/>urdu their due status. These Journals issued special numbers on<br/>"Urdu Humour and Satire" as well as on the writers of Urdu<br/>humor and satire. Beside this, a number of special<br/>corners/sections/posters on the writers of Urdu humor and satire<br/>have also been pulished by the Literary Journals of Urdu. By<br/>discussing such special numbers, the role of Pakisatni literary<br/>magazines in promotion of humour and satire in Urdu literature<br/>has been lime lighted.
