Titanium dioxide thin films were prepared from an aqueous solution of NH4OH and
TiO2 on a glass substrate at room temperature by using a simple and less expensive
technique i.e. chemical bath deposition. The synthesis methodology has been
optimized to get smooth and dense thin films on glass substrates surface. By using
circulating water bath, Chemical Bath Deposition has been established. The structural
and morphological properties of deposited thin films of TiO2 have been studied to
speculate the applications of these thin films .X-ray diffraction peaks and pattern
conforms the polycrystalline nature of titanium dioxide. Symmetrically, investigation
on structural and morphological properties shows the influence of deposition time.
Scanning electron micrographs clarify the structure of TiO2 was completely changed
into spherical nanoparticles. The anatase structure of TiO2 is very useful in the
fabrication of small thin absorber, dye synthesized solar cells and gas sensor.
Keywords: Chemical bath deposition (CBD), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Morphology.
