The stability and degradation study of drugs have engrossed much attention due to their versatile usage in our daily life. The main problem in numerous unstable products is degradation. Keeping in view this scenario, a study was planned to determine the stability and degradation of the Ibuprofen, Alprazolam and Ciprofloxin and measure their intrinsic properties. Ibuprofen is mostly used to reduce fever, inflammation and pain while Alprazolam is used to treat anxiety and panic attack. Ciprofloxin is well known due to their strong antibacterial activity. The present study describes about the degradation behavior of Ibuprofen, Alprazolam and Ciprofloxacin by using stress testing approach of ICH guidelines Q1A (R2).The qualitative and quantitative analysis of these drugs was investigated under different stress conditions via elevated temperature, oxidation and susceptibility of hydrolysis across a wide pH range. The UV/Vis. and HPLC spectral data showed that stability was disturbed and degradation occurred under the stress conditions. The results gave clear evidence that there was effect of these stress conditions. The effects were in both ways qualitative by degradation and quantitative by variation in concentration. The degradation products interact with the blood or serum and showed severe effects according to their availability and %age of degradation.
