Summary: Dibenzalacetone, its isoxazolic derivatives and their metal complexes were synthesized. Acetone with substituted benzaldehydes in the presence of basic medium gave dibenzalacetones. These dibenzalacetones were used further for the synthesis of isoxazolic derivatives and metal complexes. Synthesized compounds were evaluated for different biological activities. Compounds 3a and 5a Showed maximum antioxidant activity. While these two compounds 3a and 5a showed maximum antimicrobial activity. As well the Synthesized compounds were characterized by FTIR for structure elucidation and confirmation.
