Dibenzalacetone, its pyrazolic derivatives and their metal complexes were synthesized. Acetone with substituted benzaldehydes in the presence of basic medium gave dibenzalacetones. These dibenzalacetones were used further for the synthesis of pyrazolic derivatives and metal complexes. Synthesized compounds were evaluated for different biological activities. Some compounds exhibit anti-oxidant activity while some compounds exhibit anti-microbial activity. Furthermore the synthesized compounds were characterized by FTIR.
