This study comprises of synthesis, characterization and biological screenings of biologically active compounds obtained from biologically less active compounds. NN and NO type Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes were prepared by using different amines and various substituted aldehydes and ketones by condensation process in presence of acetic acid. The structures of the resultant compounds were confirmed by IR, MS and microanalytical data. All prepared compounds were screened for antibacterial, antioxidant, lipoxygenase inhibition activities and it was found that the complexes showed potent /significant activities as compared to Schiff base ligands.
