520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc Summary
The Executive Development Institute of the National School of Public Policy is a leading public sector institute that conducts policy dialogues, short trainings and webinars on issues of national significance. In this regard, It held a policy dialogues on "Adaptation: Towards a Resilient Pakistan" on November 7-8, 2023.

The World has faced multiple disasters due to man made climate change. These include floods, droughts, heavy rainfall, bursting of glacier lakes and melting of glaciers as well as unusual weather patterns. Although Pakistan is responsible for less than one percent of global green house gas emissions. It is among the 10 most vulnerable countries in the world to climate induced disasters. Most countries especially developing nations such as Pakistan, have taken a reactionary approach to climate disasters.

It would be prudent to escalate the matter to the highest levels of governance to allow enhanced access to the require material and political resources and willpower to implement solutions. There needs to be a consensus on the fact that climate change is not some distant threat looming on the horizon--- it is already here and survival is contingent upon adaptation.
