Summary, etc | The antibacterial activity of the synthesized derivatives (collected from chemistry<br/>department) was evaluated using a broth dilution method against bacterial pathogen. The<br/>concentration of compound was 1.5mg/ml. Ciprofloxin was a reference compound to be<br/>used as positive control. The compounds exhibited percent antibiosis against Escherichia<br/>coli (48.97%-99.64%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (34.78%-99.52%), Staphylococcus<br/>aureus (37.24%-99.63%), Klebsiella sp. (34.88%-99.34%). Bis(3-(1-(2-hydroxy phenyl<br/>imino ethyl) dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one)nickel(II) nitrate (AK-30) showed better antibiotic<br/>potential against three pathogens Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella sp.<br/>that has percent antibiosis ( >98%) while this compound showed resistant antibiosis<br/>against Pseudomonas aeruginosa that was (-40.09%).<br/>Bis(3-(1-(phenylimino)ethyl) dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one)copper(II) chloride(KS-33)<br/>Showed resistant/poor antibiotic potential against two pathogens Pseudomonas<br/>aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus while the same compound showed antibiotic<br/>results against Escherichia coli and Klebsiella sp. that was >99%.<br/>Key words:<br/>Schiff base ligand, Metallic complexes, Antimicrobial activity, Broth dilution method,<br/>Susceptibility testing, Pathogen resistance. |
