520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc This study has been carried out to compile and to find the best production way to
produce 67Cu by comparing the cross-section data of different charged particle induced
reactions (induced by p, d,3He and α) on natNi, Zn, and Ga targets. The radioisotope 67Cu
has long been known to be the ideal properties for treating the disease, especially cancer.
The lower beta-emitter, with a half-life of 2.6 days, has excellent chemical properties that
can be used as a radioimmunotherapy. We have studied total twenty reactions for the
production of 67Cu; namely 64Ni(α,p)67Cu,natZn(p,x)67Cu, natZn(d,x)67Cu, 67Zn(d,2p) 67Cu,
68Zn(γ,p) 67Cu, 68Zn(p,2p)67Cu, 68Zn(p,2p)67Cu, 68Zn(d,3He)67Cu, 68Zn(α,x)67Cu, 70Zn(p,
α)67Cu,70Zn(d,x) 67Cu, 69Ga(p,3p) 67Cu and 71Ga(p,x)67Cu 64Cu(α,2p)67Cu and 66Cu(n,
γ)67Cu,67Zn(n,p)67Cu,68Zn(n,d) 67Cu,68Zn(n,x)67Cu, 69Ga(n,n+a) 67Cu reactions. Out of
which we have selected total twelve reaction on account of their suitablity to use in
diagonostic and therapeutic applications; namely 64Ni(α,p)67Cu, natZn(p,x)67Cu,
natZn(d,x)67Cu, 67Zn(d,2p) 67Cu, 68Zn(γ,p) 67Cu, 68Zn(p,2p)67Cu, 68Zn(p,2p)67Cu,
68Zn(d,3He)67Cu, 68Zn(α,x)67Cu, 70Zn(p,α)67Cu,70Zn(d,x) 67Cu, 69Ga(p,3p)67Cu reactions.
The 64Cu(α,2p)67Cu and 66Cu (n, γ)67Cu reactions are not suitable because the radio
isotopic impurities cannot be separated chemically from the final product. The given
neutron induced reactions 67Zn(n,p)67Cu,68Zn(n, d) 67Cu,68Zn(n,x)67Cu 69Ga(n,n+a) 67Cu
also not suitable for the production of 67Cu because they give product at higher energy
which are not reliable of their use in diagonostic and therapeutic applications. For
medical Application we use prefer those reactions which gives higher cross-section at
low energy cyclotron. The experimantal data for all the selected reactions were taken
from IAEA on line data source EXFOR. For comparison the excitation function of all
selected reactions was plotted using ORIGN software. By using their experimental
information reliability of the data was checked with each other and based on their Qvalues and threshold. From above given reactions two reactions 64Ni(α, p)67Cu and
68Zn(p,2p)67Cu are looking more reliable to produce 67Cu. In these reactions the energy is
low, and cross-section is high; so, they can be conveniently produced within the hospital
using low energy cyclotrons. Experimental data of selected charged particle induced
reactions were critically analysed and compared to achieve best production route for 67Cu
Finally we suggested 64Ni (α, p)67Cu reaction as the best reaction because of its higher
yield at low energies
