TY - BOOK AU - Sonia Ghulam Bari, TI - Changes in chlorophyll, protein and heavy metals content in aquative herb water hyacinth (Eichhornia Crassipes L.) by growing in industrial effluents: / Sonia Ghulam Bari, SN - hbk U1 - 583 PY - 2019/// CY - Lahore PB - Division of Science & Technology, Univeristy of Education KW - Botany--Chlorophyll--Heavy Metals--Aquatic Herb N2 - Different concentrations of industrial effluents (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 100%) were prepared with tap water. All physico-chemical parameters was observed in the differen concentrations of the industrial effluents i-e pH, EC, TDS, COD, BOD, Cl, CO3, HCO3 The values of these parameters were increased with increasing the concentrations of th waste water. Heavy metals were also analyzed in the different concentrations o effluents and increasing trend was Cr >Cd >Pb. Eichhornia crassipes L. was grown in these concentrations of the effluents for 15, 30 and 45 days of experiment. The growth parameters like shoot length, root length, fresh weight of leaves, fresh weight of root and leaves, dry weight of roots and leaves, was observed in the different concentration of industrial effluents. The maximum growth was observed in the 10 and 15% concentration and minimum growth was observed in 100% (industrial effluents). The uptake of metals Cr, Cd, Pb was recorded after 15, 30 and 45 days of the experiment The protein and chlorophyll content were also observed in the leaves of the Eichhornia crassipes L. after 45 days of experiment. The aim of this study to observe the effect o heavy metals on the protein, chlorophyll content and growth of Eichhornia crassipe L. in different concentrations of industrial effluents of Shiekhupura ER -
